It's under a year old, don't think I will have the receipt anymore though

Anyway, first job is to change the connectors and then methodically work through it all so I know which bit has failed

Ok, think I may have solved it, whilst testing the voltage of each pack I found that if I wiggled the live wire just in the right place on one the packs I could get the voltage to drop from 8.2v to 4.3v. So that pack is now being thrown away and I have a new pack. Still going to change the connectors so I can get rid of the adaptor as this is just another failure point, fingers crossed this will solve the problem.
Will have a couple of flights at the weekend and then check the packs just to make sure

I'd be surprised if that isn't your problem Chris, as soon as the voltage drops the rx will take power from the other pack, under vibration it is probably happening constantly.

Do as you suggest though and check after a couple of flights.

From a safety point of view, most of us commence our flying day with a range and failsafe check but how do those of you using power safe receivers know both batteries are feeding your receiver. I know Chris always checks the recharge Qty of each battery which is how he has detected the problem but isn't it too late AFTER your flying session.
Would it not be better if as part of your preflight checks to disconnect each battery in turn BEFORE flying.
I don't have any powersafe Rx but feed all my dual power feed RD921 Rx with two batteries via dual switches & diodes Or a dual powerbox
switch so i can check each battery will individually power the R/C

slight fork of topic...

another thing i like about the Jeti gear.

the regulators that Jay and paul are using have telemetry on them, they tell you voltages of both packs and the rx tells you the voltage it is seeing. You can then set alarms for minimum voltages.
