Definitely interested in this, as many piccies as you can muster and lots of 'how to' detail as well. Looking forward to seeing and hearing this in the air.

Ok guys here we go.Went over to franks today shame he is still in hospital, but met his lovely wife.Kevin and Dave T were there doing some work on his workshop and they pointed me in the direction of the superb laser kit.frank has had cut and the wood pack for the wings.

I will do a full build thread from start to finish,and can't wait to get some glue flowing.
I'm thinking of making the wing in three sections as this would make it easier to transport and less chance of the.dreaded hangar rash.

Sorted out the basic parts to build the wing panels and the quality of the laser cutting is amazing from Leon at Belair kits.I have built from his laser cut kits before and I have forgotten just how good they are.
At the moment I'm making up the laminated top and bottom spars and will get going when the glue has set

I spent a long time last night studying the wing drawings and have decided that it would be very difficult to make it a three piece wing,so have gone with a one piece wing as per the Design.
started off by gluing the bottom spar to the ply dihedral brace with pva and packed spar in position. added ribs and tacked in position with thin cyano.I then added u/c ply reinforcement to ribs,top and rear spars and false leading edge.
After pinning down to the board I then went over the wing with medium cyano.
Frank had concerns over the u/c support, so I have beefed it up with extra supports, as in the picture.

3/32 balsa wing sheets are square edged and glued with pva weighed down and left to dry.
Once dry I will sand out any ridges and mark up face down on the balsa panels ready to be fitted to top surface of wing only at this stage.As for glue for this job I like to use gorilla adhesive as it is a foaming glue and will fill any slight discrepancies on the ribs

Wow Pete! Amazed at how you progress so quickly. :whistle: Keep the images coming and the build dialogue text too. Maybe at completion of project I can turn it into an article.

Made a start on the aileron to show scale hinging. The drawings show brass tube bearing with piano wire hinge pin.I've used this method before and vowed to never use it again as they went very sloppy guickly.
So any of you engineers have a better solution please let me know.

Depending on rod diameter, would Sullivan outer snake casing be any good as a bushing. Just a thought. :huh:
