Don't know about the two I have had on order for a while now from HK

I did receive two from HK, not too happy with them either, sloppy fit on the motor shaft. A lot of vibration even with only the adaptor on the motor due to the run out and, with a prop mounted, the poor model becomes a blur at top revs. I'll try balancing them as a pair. Anyone else suffered this problem?

The one I ordered from them first off was the first on the page with 4mm shaft.

The threaded part is not on the axis of the collett, hence will vibrate at some speeds. Seems to be rough a bit above half throttle but OK at full throttle. On the bench the plane vibrated a lot.

Before the first flight, I removed the collett with the heat from a soldering iron, and when I put it back it was still the same. The two I have ordered (here tomorrow) have grub screw attachment, making use of the key flat on the motor shaft. If the bore is a good fit, it might be better.

For tomorrow, I have used a 1/4" washer to space the prop off the driver.

Surely three haven't been written off today!

Glad mine is still safe at home here with me. Or am I being a bit naive? Was this a rebuke for an unavoidable absence?

Oh dear

Interesting day today, anyone who has used covering film to hinge the elevons.......think again. Dave B and I had massive flutter, simons rolled in. Mine will live again but with proper hinges :(

A sad day. Last weekend I broke one of my film hinges during a 'hot' landing. I had to replace it and had the option of either re-covering a lot of the wing or to use a sellotape hinge. I decided to go for the simpler, sellotape hinge. After what was seen today, I will remove the other elevon and re-hinge with sellotape. I'll bring the model to the club night on Friday and demonstrate how to do a tape hinge for anyone who's not done one before.

BTW, let's not dwell on the negative for too long...Dave Rogers had a successful maiden despite a poorly centering servo. I'm not sure I would have wanted to maiden it in today's weather but he had a good flight and a perfect landing.

Looking on the bright side, Dave B definately won the 'most broken' award :)
