That really is a great looking aeroplane, nicer than the Curare. Looking forward to seeing yours finished.

It's getting closer to being finished, Jon. I still have to cover the control surfaces and set up the linkages. A canopy (or two) is on the way from the USA to finish off the front end and I've got a box full of decals for the finishing touches. Model currently weighs 6lb 7oz if I use a 4000 mAh battery. The weight printed on the plan is 7lb 4oz, so I'll be well under that. I can also shed over 6oz if I go for the 3000mAh battery. The cg might dictate which battery I end up using.

Anyway, I'm off on my hols tomorrow so the completion of this one will have to wait until September.

Thank, Pete. It's been fun building using techniques I'd forgotten I knew ... like the foam wings and planked fuselage which is then sanded to shape. Looking forward to getting it finished when I get back.

Some more progress has been made, but it doesn't look much different.

Control surfaces are now covered and hinged. That took a lot more hours to complete than expected.
I've completed the pushrod installation for the elevators and rudder.
Retract bays are painted either white or black as appropriate.

Tomorrow I can complete the aileron servo installation and linkages. Then put all the gear inside and work out where the battery has to go.

Still waiting on a canopy to arrive, but if it gets here in the next 48 hours I hope to be ready on Saturday. If it doesn't...?

Hi Mike,

Can't wait to see this fly, you probably already know this, but there are clear and tinted blue canopies for the BA on Ebay from Germany, but I assume yours are on their way just not here yet.

Did you use carbon rods for the push rods, last time I saw you you were trying to decide what to use as piano wire was too stiff.

Aurora 60, now that was a nice machine!!

I flew a Palmer Touche in F3a in the late 90's which was a complete rip off of the Aurora, was a good machine in it's day. Got me to second place at the '89 Nats, can't remember now who it was that beat me that year??

Come on Chris do it, time to move on from that W*t thing :P
