Have you used any? Can you recommend some? I bought some of these
Turnigy retracts and the nose retract only worked a few times before it failed. Also, you've got to supply the legs which adds to the cost. I might use the main gear in a future project but so far these have been a waste of money.

I bought the JetCraft retracts from SMC for my Blue Angel and, although they show them in stock, I got a phone call the next day telling me they would have to order them from Germany. I think (could be wrong) that SMC are buying from Schweighoffer because I have not been able to find any other outlet for this product. IOW, you might as well buy direct from Schweighoffer yourself and save a few quid.

They are have got bad reviews, soft ally legs, nose gear fails most of the time and no anti-jam mechanism, no spare parts, etc, etc. They look good though (as shelf ornaments) ;)

Mike, you are right, looks like Germany again for the retracts that are in stock.

Update: Don't rely on the box picture.

Yes! Jon it is a blue orange inside after all. Now should it be IC or EP?

Blimey, we really are going to have a lot of classic pattern planes on the field soon. I've not got anywhere fast with my Atlas build and I'm already thinking about the plane to build!

With regards to the Electric IC conundrum, Alan started a thread that explored it from every possible angle wimbornemac.org/forum/propellor-club/666-glow-vs-electric

Personally I'd like to see how an electric version compares the Jon's IC Curare, if you're getting it for nostalgic reasons then it's got to be glow.
