Started on the stab - Like the rudder, I'm using a continuous wire hinge pin. Also splitting the elevator drive.

Rework of elevators to use wire hinge. Following rudder mods Ive found it better to face the leading edge hinge slots.

progress interrupted today but have now completed the hinging on one elevator. Also close up of the horn drive (these critical parts junctions are silver soldered )

The stab to elevator tip mating are inner / outer conical shape which proved awkward. So had to revert to machinery (NOT MY STYLE ! ) so with this former and matching sanders i can get a better mate. I'll probably cut off the current balsa and start again now ive got the method right.

Crikey, that is a complex hinge line - do you know if there was an aerodynamic reason to make it so Kevin?

The problem is created because the spar depth tapers at the tips. These pics on the unfinished elevator show what it would look like without that reverse cone shape. So there might be an airflow and drag issue but i suspect its more down to aesthetics.
