It's beginning to look 'cavernous' in there Mike ;)

Looks good Chris to good too fly, at least for me. I got bored with fuselage so started on the wings and tail and am trying to pluck up courage to put the skins on.
If you think Mike's machines look Heath Robinson take a look at these. My Machines

My problem is that every time I see it John, I can't help thinking "boat", not "plane", it might have something to do with the lack of wings!

I do hope it does flies okay, but I will not find that out for quite a while. Your wings are looking good, how far did you get with the fuselage? I'm thinking I might skin the tail over the weekend, I can't do much more on the fuselage as I'm waiting on a Hobby King order that I'm beginning to think has gone astray. it's got four 10mm motor mount spacers, and without them I can't position the motor and work out how to do the front end.

As for Heath Robinson looking contraptions, as long as they do the job ;)

I think it's time for a new radio to match the era of this plane:

Both John's and Chris's builds are coming along well. Mine has crawled to a halt while I recover from last weekends foam-fest...and this week I've also been printing and laminating membership cards in anticipation of everyone renewing their subscriptions tomorrow night.

Not sure why you had to bend the top plank, Chris. But that's the beauty of building from a 40 year-old plan. You never know how accurately drawn it was in the first place and then we all add in our own little errors along the way.

The top plank went on flat Mike, no bending, I took the top of F5 down a little to ensure the angled sides were flat and of a consistent height. :cheer:

I did bend the angled sides though, unlike someone, who took the easy and a lot quicker... and possibly more sensible route of cutting them ;)
