Another one finished...

To retain the battery I made a tray from 2mm ply with triangular section balsa stops and a velcro strap. The front of the battery is pushed into the nose where a block of foam keeps it from moving. The rear is held secure with a small screw into a ply plate glued to the floor.

The only other 'clever' thing I did was with my antenna. How do you keep them at 90 degrees to each other after stuffing the receiver down the nose? Simple...cut a triangle of plastic and tape the ends in place. It doesn't matter if they rattle around a little, they will always be at 90 degrees to each other.

Very smart Mike. Good thing you're not coming to the skittles, that one looks like a winner!

But will it be ready for the judging of the best Impressivo at the skittle night? Come to that will you be ready for the skittle night, I haven't seen your menu choices yet.

Yes, I've nearly rectified my schoolboy error! I won't admit to the additional ones I've made through the assembly.
It may be ready for the 27th.... And I shall get our menu choices through to you asap!

Like the colour scheme, Mike. I also like the battery holder, which I have copied. The plate for my tow hook makes a good base to screw it to.

Here is a sketch of the hook arrangement. I had a hint or two from Mike. All stuck with laminating resin. The photos kind of show it as well. It had to be inserted in three pieces in order to thread the hook up from underneath. The locator pegs make sure it fits together.

Apart from that, finished.

I'm certainly not going to offer to hand launch that, that hook could seriously gash my hand :evil:
