Decision made. ;)

Electric it will be. Have got a choice of Lipos already, 5 & 6 cell packs. Spare 100 amp ESC (I know it is overkill) and a 5045 660kv motor. So I have all the bits except servos (HS-5495HV) but they are due here Wednesday/Thursday. Retracts probably mid-week too.

Remember to use a regulator for the retracts.

Of course! Got loads of UBECS but they are a bit overkill I think - 15amp. I don't think I have a 5 amp one. Have to have another rumage... ;)

:) A chat with Mike today sealed it. Thanks Mike.

Got more choice of power requirements. 5 cell = sport, change prop and up to 6 cell = fast

Also that keeps my glow powered stuff down to still three oilers. Anyway I thought I was moving into gas and electric for economy

Don't blame me. My model was upside-down and you were giving it a good looking over and then asked me a few questions. I must admit that until I saw you this afternoon I had assumed you had already decided to go glow when you said "Topic moved to another category - Gas n Glow ;)"

I knew why it would be upside down, but it would have been really bad humour if it had been for another reason, and I need to keep Mike on side for my foam wing cutting tuition.

I guess the advantage of going electric first is that if you want to convert it to glow later it should be quite simple. If you did it the other way around you'd have a nasty oily mess in the engine bay and a hole in your cowl to deal with.
