I suppose I should get on with assembling the wing. After a trial dry fit it and verifying the rib alignment it was time to glue the trailing edge. Followed by CA medium on all the joints except the leading edge at the moment.  The leading edge was glued with Aliphatic.  I used my spirit level as a straight edge weighted down with a buggy battery to stop it moving. There are some small elastic bands also holding the LE back tight to the ribs via some pins in the top spar.

The day before I filled in the spar webs and I glued the sheeting to the bottom spar. The sheeting overlaps by 10mm.  The sheeting front edge was weighed down overnight using a spirit level. This would give it a starting bend (hopefully).  Today I glued the leading edge and used large hard balsa ailerons to keep an even pressure under the clamps.  A few coffees later I then glued the more sheeting over the centre and servo bays.  That's that for now till tomorrow for the wing.

Back to the fuselage, the landing gear ply is now glued in place.  An extra former was also made and glued to guide the servo control wires through the fuselage. Will trim as necessary once the tail is fitted.

Also glued an ESC mounting to the landing gear ply. This will raise the ESC capacitors clear of the landing gear wire and enables to easily fit cable ties to secure the ESC.

This morning I was horrified to find that some of the sheeting on the leading edge had expanded up at the centre join.  After pondering how to solve this problem and bearing in mind I am virtually out of 1/16th balsa sheet, so just enough for one go at it.

I will cut back to the first full rib, back to the centre of the top spar and partly on to the leading edge. I discovered that the balsa had not stuck to the 1/2 rib and the first rib.  That maybe was the problem.  The half ribs I think is crucial as it is the one that takes the load when pushing the wing into position.

Repair done. A little bit of filler required.  The wing now sits quite well in the fuselage. Solar Cover ordered and should arrive Tuesday so I get on with covering all the parts and fitting.

you could consider a thin bandage of glass cloth to reinforce the L/E sheeting joint. I covered mine anyway to provide a bit more resilience to the rubber bands

If you want some and going to Cashmoor  Sat let me know
