This is going to be a long thread. Over three pages already and all we have to show is one plan between us.

For me, a little slower is good, but you all knew that.

You're right Phil, things are moving slowly, and in light of that I'd like to run something up the flag pole and suggest forming an action group, going forward. The exact nature and structure to be determined at the first meeting. It will be essential to establish our goal posts, which by the nature of the project will need to remain movable. Once core objective have been ring-fenced and potential detrimental influences have been quarantined we will be ready to propose a time line of [strike]in[/strike]activity. Should things remain stagnant for an undermined lenght of time there may be a need for some back of house realignment

And now for something trivial: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311022501015?_trksid=...e=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I think this is the magazine the plans came from, is it likely to have an article on the build or be of any help/interest?

Oh, and Mike's on holiday next week so I suspect we'll all be trying to catch up with him before too long.

The ebay magazine and the scanned article in the first post are one and the same.

If you read the thread title you'll see that no building is allowed until the end of autumn.

Well I guess a good starting point is working out what wood is required, now there is a plan.

Mike was telling me that in the olden (some would say golden) days there was no such thing as lite plywood, and so the Atlas plans only stipulate the use of 'plywood', can I or should I use lite plywood in any of the construction of the plane, or is it best to stick with birch ply as would have been originally used?

With regards to balsa, you can get three densities; light, medium and hard, I assume we want light for most things, but what about the tail fin and rudder? Also is there any where I should be using C grain/cut Balsa?

Is 'contest' balsa a super light balsa, I've found info on A, B & C cuts, but not contest sheet.

Thanks
