Please don't pick on my little friend, that's my job.

Given me ideas though, I've just got home from Spire Models having bought some nice dayglow orange Profilm

After my last question met with no response I'll try again with a different one. Am I right to assume the best method of securing the servos is to glue them to the ply support ?? If so what's the best glue to use ?

Simon originally asked

How's others getting on ?

- and nobody replied, shame on us. Sorry Simon. I'm now on the last lap, in the process of applying Profilm, can't speak for everyone else. As for securing the servos, I used epoxy, wasn't too confident about using cyano, "frozen" servos are a useless waste of money.

Sorry for letting you down Simon, I couldn't offer any advice based on my experience as mine is still in it's box :(

I'm doing better than Dave B though, he hasn't even collected his from me yet :)

This is not the best photo to show how i have secured the servos.
For each servo lug (4 off) I have made stacked up 3 squares of 3mm light ply to make a block about 15mm x 15mm x 9mm. Then cut a slot to locate the servo lug and glued the blocks to the ply servo plate.
You may also note that i have re worked the servo lead cut outs in order to keep the plugs inside the fuselage.

I'm possibly being a bit thick, but I can't understand what you've done here. Any chance of a clearer description for the hard of thinking?

Re. servos...I always rought up the surface with a very coarse permagrit block to give the epoxy something to key onto. Only use a small blob of epoxy...it squeezed out and will need a lot of mopping up otherwise.
