What a Ba----d Job trying to dry fit the wing together. Is that the best way and glue after assembly. ?????? Nearly ended up out on the lawn just now. Will leave for now and sit in a darkened room to calm down .

Haven't chosen a colour scheme, but I'll go for black

Middle is fine as well, but I would prefer white please, but if it is easier to order all the same, black would be ok.

First one up and flying so puts pressure on getting Finished. I've nearly done the the wings. Fuz just needs sanding and fitting hatches. Then covering and install the gear. How's others getting on ?

This afternoon I succumbed to senior committee members bullying me into test flying my Impressivo. The justification being that the other group members could benefit from the results. I admit not putting up much of a fight and realized that if it all went wrong, there would be time to repair / rebuild prior to the mass launch !!

You may find the following useful.

Mike Seal launched the model using one of my Kevlar sticky gloves. He said this provided better grip but more importantly they offered some protection from propeller rasp. I’ve had these a while but the ones in this link looks similar.
www.toolstation.com/shop/Workwear/Gloves...ves/d70/sd570/p44049

I held back applying full power before he let go. This was a mistake because when I went to full power, the surge in torque induced a violent left roll. The grass was seen ducking for safety ! - SO SET POWER PRIOR TO LAUNCH and don’t alter until flying speed reached.

With a 196gm battery mounted between the fwd wing dowel and the main bulkhead, the recommended C of G is exactly on the recommended 110 mm fwd of the Trailing edge which provided acceptable pitch stability for first flight.

However, with the recommended elevon control throws of 5mm - Pitch response was just enough but roll response was sluggish. Once trimmed, the model behaved well and on the recommended control throws, the model is stable and easy to fly but experienced fliers will want higher rates. Possibly 10mm aileron & 8mm elevator

The 1mm elevon up bias for launch was beneficial - I also switched this back in for landing which was uneventful.

My 6x3 prop draws 42amps static. The 2200mA battery was lightly warm after 5mins flight and had 40% capacity remaining.

You used a 6x3 (brand?) prop and I would say it was a fair bit faster than my Twinjet. Changing to a 5.25x4.75 (the prop I have on the TJ at the moment) would make it faster still. I don't think you'll be disappointed, Jon.
