Fsky Taranis X9D Plus was created by Phil Ford
Bought this last week from Hobbyking UK with X8R receiver. Best price i could find. With JR going down, Spektrum has issues, I don't like Futaba so that left Frsky Open TX, plus with lots of modules available at good prices too.

I have played with this new TX for a few days now. I am using Open Companion 2.1 on my PC to help program it. It is some learning curve though. I am struggling though to get expos and rates set up for a motorised glider. I am not sure but I think expo is called "curves" on this system.

Any assistance welcomed

No. Difficult to describe, but it is on the primary channel allocation screen. Click on the e.g aileron and it brings up the screen for expo.

Forgot one step. When you select "aileron", it br ings up options. Choose "edit". As you will see from the screen when choosing edit it is possible to add data to allow variable expo per rate.
Good luck

Thanks Stuart but I am still no further. Maybe I am looking at wrong menus. All frigging day playing with it, reading a full blown manual from OpenTX. Just got tired eyes now.
Best bet is if you show me "live" next time I see you. Once I have got an plane set up I can always copy it and then modify to suit.
At present I have my Fox glider as model 1 but it needs expos and mixes as you can imagine.

Mr. Ford,

I find it easier to set up a new model in Companion and then tweak it at the field.

First, I'm assuming you have a model set up via the 'wizard' i.e. we have something to work with.

Open your model in Companion and go along to the input tab at the top.
Double click on the input you want to add expo and or rates to.

You should get a box like in the photo above.
WEIGHT is your rates, 100 = 100% servo movement, 80 = 80% servo movement
nNext to CURVE click and change "Diff" to "EXPO" Do not tick GV but put in the amount of expo you require in the box on the right, mine is 25.

This is just one line, to set up extra expo and rates for the same input is easy:

but lets not get ahead of our selves just yet.

Many thanks Chris. I think I see the bit I am overlooking. Yes i have used Companion 2 and also found you can drag an Input line down and then edit it to suit. I will have another play tomorrow. Companion 2.1.7 would not talk to Plus. Downloaded 2.1.9 and now it does. Now I can exit the bootloader properly.:)

I also think Stuart that your version is an early one because the Plus had some different coding.

Oi! What's all this formal greeting Mr Chris Wild......

Should have said I programme on the Tx. As far as I know, the solution is the same with later firmware.

Hi Phil,

Glad you managed to get Bootloader, OpenTX and Companion all to the right versions to talk happily with each other, I remember going round in circles the first time I did it and cannot remember the exact route I took to get it done. I'm on 2.19 so that makes like easier. I'm by no way an expert, but if I can help I will,
