The ECU recorded that the motor was shut down due to over temp which is more than likely due to lack of air, so grass cuttings look very likely to be the cause.
Mike,
I'm 99% sure it was grass cuttings which caused the over temp. The ecu "black box" recorded a temperature of 811 degrees on the turbine.
I had a similar problem the week before when the model ran through the cut grass which caused the turbine to stop. When i took the hatch off their was so much grass around the fod it looked like a wasps nest.
If would be really nice to have a mower that collected the grass when mown, as turbine models are getting more popular in the club i would hate to think that one of us could loose a model due to this problem.
It's the same sort of problems which full size jets have ie bird strikes or more recently these idiots who fly drones near airports.
