Coming along nicely Pete.

A lot of fiddly work though. JRI should recommend you for a Knighthood after this. They are giving them away to easy nowadays. No reflection on your abilities but you know what I mean after the New Year Honours list saga

The tanks are ready to have the fittings installed. A good tip when fitting the vents on this type of tank is to cut a very thin slice of tygon which acts as an excellent fuel tight washer.
I've mixed up a small amount of hysol to fit the main feed inner fittings and smoothed round with my finger to make a nice joint. Hysol is slow setting so will be left overnight.Once cured the tank halves will be glued together with hysol and left to cure, klunks fitted, filled with fuel to leak test.

If anyone is thinking of using hysol make sure you use the aeropoxy. You will probably have noticed that I'm using BVM aeropoxy in my gun same stuff but rebadged so they can charge you 4x as much

OK then!!
Next up is instalation time for the tail pipe, bypass and turbine. Firstly is to cut the rear Aluminium heat shield to protect the upper rear fuzz, next is to make the upper forward ceramic blanket covered with tin foil. The main aim for these is to protect the servo leads for the Elevators and rudder from the extreme Heat from the exhaust, pics to follow.

Coming along in leaps and bounds Pete. ;)

Aerpoxy looks really good stuff for composites but not wanting to hijack the thread. When I was doing European transport I used to pick up small boxes of composite adhesives from 3M France for the aerospace maintenance industry. This stuff was transported and kept in dry ice or it goes duff and I could not come back by passenger ferry due to being classified as 4.1 (self activating fire hazard) Possibly carbon fibre adhesive? The invoices showed it was bloody expensive too.

Any idea what it was Pete?

Aeropoxy is not only just for composite Phil, it's the best adhesive on the market for gluing ply to fibre/glass fuzz's etc and a reinforcing fillet on balsa and ply joints. The only downside side is it's bloody expensive, but saying that if it holds your multiple £££££'s pride and joy together its a good buy.
